Pastor Bob Simpson
A native of Maryland, Bob Simpson has over forty years of church ministry, non-profit and corporate business experience. Over that span he has served as an ordained minister serving churches full-time in Oklahoma, Virginia, Florida, and Maryland as pastor and pastor of worship, has been a corporate director of marketing for a $100 million company, the founder and managing partner of his own marketing consulting firm, and the chief operating officer for the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D), a religious non-profit headquartered in Columbia, Maryland. Simpson is trained and certified as an intentional interim pastor and in conflict resolution. He continues to work as a bi-vocational minister, an interim pastor and as a professional musician (vocalist, keyboardist, choral conducting, and arranging). During his thirteen years at the BCM/D, Bob also served as the executive editor of “BaptistLIFE”, the official news journal of the organization. Under his leadership, “BaptistLIFE” won numerous national awards for design, writing, and news coverage. In 2009 he served as the national president of the Association of State Baptist Papers. He currently consults with various other non-profits and businesses. Bob attended Oklahoma Baptist University for four years and received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts (Music) degree in 1975 from Virginia Commonwealth University. He also earned an MBA degree in 1997 from Johns Hopkins University. Bob and his wife, Lorraine, have three grown sons and six grandchildren. His hobbies and interests include photography, sports (golf, Redskins and Orioles), history, and travel.
